Perhaps it's Activision who is to blame to plan the franchise this way.IEditorial Note: These blog posts represent the opinion of DoNotPay’s Writers, but each person’s situation and circumstances vary greatly. They apparently chose the easy way out (perhaps to make more many per purchase with the minimized development costs, who knows) and put the minimum required effort in to make a "passable" CoD and cash in until IW comes around with actual, significant improvements once again. It's obvious, isn't it? So why is it outrageous when we as MW players expect from the next game in the Call of Duty franchise to evolve in a way that keeps the plusses of its predecessor and improve on its minusses? Do you think it was that impossible to make the Cold War with better animations, sound and world design and fluid gameplay? The new engine IW built took 5 years for them and considering each CoD spends 3 years in development, Treyarch (also Activision as the overseer and watchdog of the franchise) could also easily have chosen to put the hard effort to perfect their game and give the fans a truly better, evolved Call of Duty. MW looks gorgeous, but it's success is held up by many things that either make the gameplay bearable or have nothing to do with the gameplay example being crossplay/free content.īy this i mean, if any other call of duty had been the first to release with these items free content, crossplay, new engine, groundwar. I'm pretty sure 99% of the youtubers wouldn't have gameplay to show while talking about MW if groundwar didn't exist since regular MP was so terrible. Like Free content and crossplay, many people would not of bought if it didn't have crossplay a lot of people wouldn't of bothered if it didn't have free content updates. MW is lucky to be the first to add a lot of things that don't create any hardship on the player. MW is literally held up by additional items that are outside of the gameplay. I do not think MW is very good from a gameplay point of view. If this cod didn't have free content or groundwar. TL DR: Be careful when you preorder Cold War or anything else on the Acti-Blizzard store, you may not get a refund. People keep saying "no problem, you can always cancel your preorder" as if it's easy breezy, but I wanted to warn you that you may not get your preorder refunded. I can say with certainty that many MW players already preordered Cold War and some among them are disappointed upon seeing the multiplayer gameplay videos. You can check out the correspondence yourselves: Upon reading that, he asked for them to elaborate on this and how it is an exception to refund a preorder, and they basically said every purchase is considered final, and refunds on preorders are given on a case-by-case basis and that they may or may not refund a preorder. However, the customer agent also stated that this was a one-time exception and that it won't happen again in the future. So he sent a ticket to Blizzard customer support, and they responded within a couple of hours and refunded his purchase. My cod (MW) buddy had preordered Cold War after the reveal videos, but upon watching the streamer multiplayer gameplay he was crushed and felt stupid for buying into the premise of a better game than its predecessor. or not, I just want to provide information for people who might want to refund their preorder. Disclaimer first: I really don't want to get into the debate of whether Cold War will suck/is a downgrade/etc.
